We’re making progress! I had a follow-up appointment this morning from my migraine visit to L&D on Tuesday. After a sudden mental and emotional breakdown, combined with a physical downward spiral on Wednesday, I wasn’t expecting anything.
I was delighted when Dr. Gagnon told me I was dilated 2-3 cm, 70% effaced and a -2. I don’t really know what all of that means except for progress is happening. It gave me a burst of energy and hope that I desperately needed. He said that my migraine was probably a surge in pregnancy hormones getting my body ready for labor. I already have an appointment scheduled for next Tuesday and I asked him if I should keep it. He said, “Yes, but there might be a baby by next Tuesday!”
I couldn’t believe it!
On Thursday morning, I had coffee with a friend from church. She has a 6 month old and it was just great to talk to her because I had been feeling so anxious and frustrated and downright defeated. She really made me feel better, but when I got home yesterday afternoon, I started google-ing “natural ways to induce labor.” I got the typical, “eat pineapple, do kegel exercises, sit on a bouncy ball, do squats, etc.”
I did a couple of those of things last night when I was awake between 1 and 2am, but didn’t expect a thing. Apparently, my hard work paid off so I will continue my natural induction efforts until Jayne gets here. Can’t hurt, right? I’m sitting on an exercise ball as I type.
COME ON, JAYNE!!!
