The baby shower was a great success!  We actually had 16 people and the house and the food were both amazing.  I must say though, I’m glad it’s over.

Wade and Neal got in at 2AM.  They decided to drive through the night.  Once they got settled, it took me a while to get back to sleep.  So, I was up until about 4:30.  I woke up at 7AM to finish prep for the shower.  Right at 9AM, I ran to Target to get some ice and a little something extra for the shower.  When I came home Kristen and Lisa had just pulled up in my driveway.  As I was trying to pull into the garage, I knocked my driver’s side mirror off because I hit it on the house.  If you’re counting, that’s 3 times!!!  UGHHHH!

We had crab quiche, bacon and spinach quiche and another kind that was vegetarian along with mixed salad and fruit with poppy seed dressing.  It was spectacular.  Lisa made a spinach artichoke dip and I made apple and cranberry brie with a bunch of muffins and banana nut bread. I thought I had bought plenty of champagne, but 30 minutes into it, I had to make an emergency run to the liquor store for more.  We ended up going through 10 bottles.  That’s quite impressive for a Saturday morning.  Anyway, since my car was blocked in the garage, I had to take Kristen’s mini-van.  I’m sure people on the road thought a soccer mom was having a psychotic episode with the way I was driving…LOOK OUT, FOLKS!  I’VE GOT A BABY SHOWER/CHAMPAGNE EMERGENCY!!!

Once I returned, we ate and opened gifts.  Courtney got the cutest stuff.  We all just sat around and talked for a while before we tried to take a group photo.  Poor Nellie had been upstairs with the dogs all  morning, but we needed his help and he obliged.  That brave man came down and took our picture!!!  What a lifesaver?!?  I can’t wait to see it.

After the shower, I cleaned up the party and we all took a nappy nap.  I’m still looking for bed tonight and a restful day tomorrow.

Blessings.
