What week?!?  We had our first dinner club last night and I spent all week preparing for it.  Let me tell ya, cooking for 10 people is no small feat.  Here’s the menu:

Appetizers:
Brie-Stuffed Mushrooms
Plain and Olive Baguette with Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar for dipping
Pork Ribs

Salad:
Spinach with Strawberries, Almonds, Pumpkin Seeds, & Feta Cheese dressed with Olive Oil Balsamic Vinegar and Honey

Main Course:
Garlic-Stuffed Tenderloin with Western Plaid Hash
Dinner Rolls
Baked Asparagus with Soy, Red Wine and Butter Glaze

Dessert:
Pots de Creme with homemade Whipped Cream and Strawberries

It was BYOB and I woke up to 11 empty bottles of wine in the kitchen.  10 people, 11 bottles of wine and various beer bottles…you do the math.  It was a blast and everything was delicious.  One couple ended up spending the night.  We stayed out on the patio talking until 1AM.  Everyone had so much fun that we decided to change dinner club to a monthly event!

The Rangers have also made this a very busy/stressful week for us.  After being swept by the A’s in their final series, they are now in a one-game play-off with the Orioles tonight.  I’m excited about October baseball, but I just hate the nerves and stress that go along with it.  I’m actually waiting for our friends, Jim and Dia Tam to pick me up and head to the Ballpark.

Tomorrow we have a vet appointment for the dogs at 8AM and Wade has a haircut at 9:30.  We have to be in Dallas for a little celebration by 11:30 and then we can relax for bit.  I’ll be doing massive amounts of laundry while still recovering from Dinner Club.  Hopefully, the Rangers will start the DS games against the Yankees on Sunday and we’ll have that to go to.

Oh my goodness.  I didn’t wash my hair today because I didn’t get out of bed for good until 3:30 this afternoon and it wreaks of cigar smoke.  Guess I gotta keep this party going.  I really can’t even begin to tell you how much fun last night was and I’m really proud of myself and thankful for Wade’s support to be able to pull that off.  I stumbled on a funny little thing last night.  We had to put our dining room table and kitchen table together to accommodate all 10 people.  I served 2 sets of everything so each set of 5 people would only have to pass amongst each other.  There were two butter trays and two sets of salt and pepper shakers.  I realized that one of the sets was from my last marriage and it just struck me as funny.  Why would I have kept  the salt and pepper shakers???  I mean, I liked them, but I probably could have left those, right?  It was just a funny little thing.

Okay, MOM, there’s my blog for now.  I’ve got my brain on Rangers’ baseball right now!!!
