IT’S 2012!

Wow!  2011 really was AWESOME!  Seriously!  We both got our MBA’s, we got engaged.  We started our life-changing budget and we did it all with the best family in the world and some really great friends.  I’m sad to say goodbye to such a great year, but really looking forward to what 2012 has in store.

This is the year we get married.  According to Nostradamus, it’s also the end of the world, but that’s not expected until December, so at least we’ll be married.

Again, I apologize for not updating as often as I’d like.  It’s been a mad rush to spend time with family and friends who are only in town for a short time and relax, as well.  We’ve been playing lots of trivia and watching TV, taking afternoon naps and eating out.  Unfortunately, the eating out is coming to an end because we started a 28 day fast yesterday.  We are eating 1 meal a day.  Actually, we can have a little snack before 9AM, but nothing after that until 5PM.  We’ll have our dinner and that’s it.  Yesterday proved to be an extra challenge due to the slight tinge of hangover we battled all day.  Still, though, I wouldn’t change a thing.  We had the best NYE ever!

We spent it with some of my old friends at Bob’s Chophouse in Grapevine.  The food was great and the company was fantastic, as well.  We are so lucky to have the Mapes’ around.  They dropped us off and picked us up after the the festivities!  How awesome is that?!?  Yeah, I’m 29.  What of it?

Other things that I wanted to write about are…
Wade’s proposal
Sports Challenge
Wedding Update

Okay, now that I have my thoughts in order, let’s do this!

Over Christmas, Wade proposed…to my brother.  It was great.  He got down on one knee in front of my whole family and asked John to be a groomsmen.  He even presented John with a ring that was made from toilet paper.  It was hilarious!

I can’t believe I forgot to mention the 2012 Sports Challenge in my last post.  On the last night that Neal and Carolyn were here, I explained to Neal and Wade that I am awesome at EVERYTHING.  Specifically, I said I could throw a football 60 yards.  This led to the 2012 sports challenge, which will include a timed race around Brighton Village, Pool, Tennis, Balancing, and any other thing we want to throw in.  It really was quite funny and, although I probably cannot throw a football 60 yards, I know I can beat Neal at most of the events (EAT MY DUST, NELLIE)!

We have the wedding invitation list down from 360ish to 259!  What an accomplishment?!?  That was not easy.  Things are going well and we should have the bulk of this done by the end of January.  I head to Vegas the 13th-19th and I’m looking forward to that.  It will be difficult with the fast, but I think it should be fun.  Hopefully, I’ll be too busy to realize how hungry I am!

Okay, I think I’ve tied up all my loose ends.  I’m ready to take 2012 head on and here’s how I plan to do that:

1. Tithe
2. Lose 10 lbs
3. Exercise at least 20 minutes a day

That’s all I got for now 🙂

Blessings and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
