Have I only been working for 2 days? It feels like forever. I slept like a baby last night! I’ve been spending a lot of time with the inside sales reps, going over accounts with them and listening in on their calls. There are 10 of them and it’s been a good way to get to know each of them.
This one gentleman, his name is Curtis, is a huge fan of the Trinity Trojans (my high school). He’s a little different, but very kind. As we were going over our shared accounts, we got to one and he paused. He looked and me and said, “Now, I don’t care what you do in your own time and I’m not discriminating, but…well, Bobbi, is GIRL.”
At first, I thought he was pointing out that it was unusual for a girl to have a boy’s name (preaching to the choir, buddy). He reluctantly continued…”and, well, she’s a lesbian.”
Then he sweetly asked me if I would be okay with that? I said of course and that I would just wear a short skirt when I went to visit her account. He didn’t like my joke, but everyone else in the office did and they were in tears. To make amends with ‘ole Curtis, I’m taking him one of my old cheerleading pictures…I’m sure he’ll get a kick out of it.
It’s a big night in the Graf house tonight…we’ve got Ohio State at the Sugar Bowl. The pizza has been ordered, the workouts are done, the dogs have been walked and we’re ready to watch those poisonous nuts got crazy on the Razorbacks. Yeah, I know…what bowl was Texas in??? Blah, blah, blah…
