My first blog of 2011.  It’s been a great year so far.  On New Year’s Eve, Wade and I went to Fort Worth and hung out and had delicious wine and champagne at our favorite little cigar shop.  After a few hours with some great company, we headed to Chop House to get a little food in our bellies.  We shared calamari and mussels and he had a delicious salad and I had bread pudding (yuuuuuummmmm)!  We headed home around 5:30 to get the dogs fed and take a nap.  We both slept until about 9PM and then we decided to start watching this incredibly long baseball documentary that he got for Christmas.  We did that for an hour and then came downstairs to watch the countdown at Victory Plaza in downtown Dallas on tv.  It was very low profile, but I got share a bottle of really good champagne and a kiss with the love of my life and I really can’t ask for much more than that, can I?!?!

Yesterday was the first day of the 1st Annual Graf Fitness Challenge.  We are basing it on minutes of cardio per person.  This is huge considering that a “Kaptain” could beat those Graf’s at their own game!  We all got a few minutes logged and we’re feeling good.  We had our dear friend, Brad, over for the Rose Bowl last night and he came baring gifts.  He brought the absolute best tamales I’ve ever had, corn bread, black eyed peas and all kinds of other goodies.  We really enjoyed the TCU victory.  After all, they are the home town heros!

We went to church this morning and enjoyed a sermon from Jack Hayford.  He is a special guest at the first of every year and a pleasure to listen to.  He’s very funny, as well.  Today he made a comment that he’s more of a college football fan because of his job.  He doesn’t get to watch professional football because his Sundays are shot straight to…HEAVEN.  It was a good laugh.

We had a quick lunch at Panera in Southlake and then went to Petco to use a gift card that the dogs got for Christmas.  When we got home at about 1:30, I went for a bike ride.  I only went about 8 miles, but the weather was perfect and I feel great about it.  Now, I’m prepping lobster for some lobster fettuccine…it’s going to be a great year!!!
