Well, right now my face is more broken out than a junior high cheerleading squad. I think it’s the weather, but between that and the extra layer of “warmth” I added over Thanksgiving, I feel pretty gross. It’s amazing how our outward appearance can have such a profound effect on our attitudes.
I’ve been laughing at myself lately because my “work uniform” consists of athletic pants, running shoes and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. I guess that since I’m not working, the athletic look helps me to feel like I’m doing something, even though I really haven’t been that active. Oh well.
I took the dogs for a walk three times around the block this morning. Archie continues to bark like a mad man. It’s so embarrassing when you’re waving and yelling “good morning” to a neighbor and your dog is going batsh** crazy on the leash. It really ruins what that experience is supposed to be like.
I had lunch with my friend, Laura, yesterday. We met at a new mediterranean restaurant in Fort Worth and it was delicious. When she emailed me last week to set up the lunch, I just knew that she was pregnant. Sure enough, I see her at the restaurant and she’s 6 months along. I’m so excited for her and her husband and can’t wait to meet little Jack!
I have another interview next week. The company is Haigood & Campbell and they are located in Archer, Texas. I’ve never even heard of Archer. It’s an outside sales position and I would be selling fuel to construction sites and companies with fleets. I am really interested in the position and it helps that the boss would be 2 hours away, in Archer. So, between that and the HTM interview on Tuesday, I’m feeling pretty good about next week.
This means that, today, I have to go buy a suit. YUCK! Nothing is worse than buying clothes when you feel fat…NOTHING! I’m going to the Northeast Mall and they have a Dick’s so, I’ll be purchasing some more of my current “work uniforms” as well.
Okay, that’s all for today. Wish me luck with my shopping trip. This could be disastrous!
