Believe it or not, I had a hard time sleeping last night! I was shocked. I though I’d sleep like a baby. Everyone else in the house slept well, so that’s good!
Today is the first day of my diet/lifestyle change. I want to lose about 25 lbs and I’ve given myself 3 months. We’ll see how that goes…
So, in the car, I had a lot of time to think. I reflected a lot on the time that we spent in Ohio and how important family is. My Mom’s side of the family is from Ohio and I could really see some major similarities. There were a couple of moments that hit me like a brick…”oh, that’s where that comes from.” My Dad’s side of the family is from further east and having seen the differences, I really thought a lot about what family means and lifestyles across the country.
I’ve spent a ton of time on the West coast. Out there, I think life is just about living; having fun, working to play, and relaxing. Now, I haven’t spent much time on the East coast. In fact, pretty much just Florida and the Carolinas, but there’s definitely a different vibe there. Even though Florida is beachy, it’s a much faster pace. People work constantly and that seems to be where they get their fulfillment. The Midwest; that’s a different story. It’s ALL about family, which I really love. People work. People play. But, up there, life is connected and intertwined with your community and family.
I really don’t have the words or the energy to find the words to explain what I’m thinking here, but it was really interesting to me.
Along with being my first healthy day, I’m also back to finding a job. I have three follow ups today and a very busy week. On Wednesday, I have lunch with my friend, Laura; on Friday, I have my Sports & Entertainment Management Luncheon and I’m going to try to finish Christmas shopping this week, too! Oh, I’m also building my own website…that should keep me pretty busy for now!
Blessings.
