You know how I was talking about coming out of my motivational slump? Well, I think I figured out the key…coffee. I’m not much of a caffeine drinker and haven’t been since 7th grade. Don’t get me wrong; I love cokes, but I try to make them an occasional treat. In any case, coffee is amazing. I may start drinking it. I can’t fully commit yet though. I’m worried I’ll start to get migraines again and that’s not very fun.
Instead of committing to caffeine, I’m going to commit to “Why not?”
Here’s the deal. When there’s something I’m dreading or putting off, I’m going to ask myself “Why not do it now?” If I can’t think of a good reason to not do something (and “I can do it tomorrow” doesn’t count), I’m gonna do it. THE END. I’ll let you know how it goes…
Back to the caffeine though, the good news is that I have vacuumed the baseboards, mopped, done dishes, finished another load of laundry and showered all before 10am. Hellooooooooo weekend! I guess the weekends aren’t much different than my actual week, but they still create the same amount of anticipation which is nice.
I plan on decorating for Christmas today which I have really come to enjoy. I also did a little Christmas shopping yesterday and I’m happy to say that I don’t have much more to go. I love giving gifts. It’s almost dangerous for me to be shopping so early because I get so excited about the gifts I’m getting for people, I want to give it to them early!
Yesterday, as I was shopping, I got a call from a company called Home Team Marketing. I found the job opening on teamworkonline.com, which does all the hiring for NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and just about any other entity in the sports industry. It’s very difficult to get jobs via the teamwork website because it is so saturated with applicants. I know, I used it when I had positions to fill at the Rangers. So, it’s really difficult to stand out. When I saw the open position, I knew I had to make myself different so, I looked up the company’s address and the local VP and I mailed a hard copy of my resume and my cover letter. It worked. The guy said that he was so happy to have something right in front of him instead of having to go through the plethora of applications online! I have an interview on Monday at 10:15.
Next week is going to be a very busy week. I have so much to do around the house, so much follow up for the job search and of course, Thanksgiving. I just love Thanksgiving so much. It’s always been my favorite holiday. Maybe it has to do with my love for mashed potatoes. That has yet to be determined.
Well, I’m heading up into the attic to get those Christmas decorations down…
See you tomorrow!
Blessings.
