Well, it’s 9:46 and I’ve completed most of my errands for the day. I have a phone interview at 7PM and I know they think I’m a boy. I have yet to talk to them on the phone, but with a name like Coty Kaptain, I can expect nothing less.
I’m going to take the dogs for a walk in a bit. It’s kind of a milestone because we are going to go four times around the block, which is about 1 mile. They’ve only ever gone three times around. It’s the little things these days J
To be honest, I don’t know what I’d do without these dogs. They are such a joy and seem to know exactly when I need a distraction from the monotony. I love the way that they play with each other. They can be so vicious and two seconds later, they are cuddling so sweetly. Their personalities are so different and that makes them even more fun to watch. As I type, I’m watching Mack stalk Archie from one side of the ottoman…so funny.
There was a huge storm last night; thunder, lightning, strong winds and hail. It was so awesome. In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I turned off the TV just so I could listen to it. It was a perfect end to a really great day. It was a little cooler than normal yesterday and very gray. I lit a fire in the evening and it was so cozy to eat dinner with just the fire going and the wind swirling outside.
I must say, I was pretty proud of my dinner last night. I made fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and scallops and a side of asparagus. It was my favorite meal that I’ve ever made. Having this time off has definitely given me the opportunity to expand my culinary horizons. I really do enjoy cooking…
So, back to yesterday. It was a really great day. I applied for no less than 21 jobs. I have a phone interview scheduled for 7pm this evening and another interview on Thursday at 9am. There certainly is no lack of jobs, it’s just that I have to be picky to make sure that they are jobs I want. Lately, I’ve heard so many people say things like, “people shouldn’t complain about their jobs, they should just be thankful they have one.” I can’t say I disagree with the complaining part. I don’t think people should spend time complaining when they can actually do something about their situation. I got tired of complaining about my job, so I quit. Maybe I should have just been thankful to have a job, but I would never be happy just settling on that. Different strokes for different folks, right?
Since my mother and I will be making kahlua this weekend, I’m going to run around and gather the supplies. Has anyone tried tracking down a funnel lately??? Those are not easy to come by. I went to two grocery stores and finally ended up finding one at Target. I still lack about 6 lbs of brown sugar, 3 bottles of Everclear (what will the people at the liquor store think?) and 3 gallons of chocolate flavored coffee.
We are also going to the Trinity game this weekend. It’s high school football play-off time in Texas!!! I can’t wait for Wade to get to see the madness! He’s from such a small town…I wish he could see the pep rallies and even the buses leaving the school. There truly is nothing like it.
I think I mentioned yesterday that I’m heading to Fort Hood to visit one of my girlfriends and her little girl tomorrow. I can’t wait to see them. I think I’m also going to go see Harry Potter at midnight on Thursday night. Probably by myself…I’m pretty excited about HP and being at the movies alone.
Okay, I’m headed off for my 1 mile adventure with the puggle bulls. Have great day!!!
Blessings.
