2 miles. Hills. 23 min. 20 sec. + 1 mile. Flat. 12 min. 5 sec. =
3 miles. 35 min. 25 sec./3 = 11min. 55 sec/mile
I have always wondered, when I see people out running, biking, etc during the day, what their jobs are. I mean, what do you get paid to do that you don’t have to be in the office during the day? I want THAT job!!! After running during my lunch break over the past two days, I realized that those people must be in outside sales. I am that girl! I also realized that it’s a damn shame I have to run instead of eat my lunch! It’s funny how the perspective changes so much when you’re on the other side things.
In any case, I ran 3 miles today because I didn’t want this coming Saturday to be my first 3 mile run. I’m okay with my time. I really want to be averaging under 11 min/mile. I’m sure that will come with time. It felt really good. Today is the first day that I feel like 2 miles is getting easier. I’m very happy I’ve been running the hills, too. Still crossing my fingers that it will pay off.
School is ridiculous and actually, work is too. I really do have too much on my plate right now, but I’m the type of person that will eat whatever you put in front of me. I mean that figuratively and literally. This summer is like eating an elephant…just take it one bite at a time! AHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh! At least I’m a quarter of the way through my semester and we are a quarter of the way through the baseball season, too. Come on All-Star Break! Come on Truckee! I can’t wait for July!
Well, I have to get going. There’s an article in today’s WSJ called “How to Force Yourself to Exercise.” This is obviously a must-read for me. I’ll just have to fit it in between my 6PM group meeting and a 7:05 first pitch 🙂
Blessings!
