2 miles. Hills. 26 min. 28 sec.

Since I puked on Tuesday, I decided that it would be a good idea to really challenge myself and run the biggest hills I know of in North Texas.  See, I “force-fielded” myself there by clarifying that these are the biggest hills I KNOW OF.  Let me just say that I hope I don’t find any that are bigger around here.  Obviously, these hills are not anything close to what I will encounter in San Francisco.  They aren’t even comparable to the hills in Austin, but they are some big hills for North Texas.

I had a hard time getting up this morning.  I absolutely love running in the mornings, but I love sleep at any time so there’s internal conflict there.  That being said, I have been overwhelmed by the support I have gotten from colleagues, friends and family.  In 5 days, I have raised 20% of my goal.  Knowing that and reading the stories that people are sending me really makes me feel like I’m doing something powerful.  Not to mention, it helps to end the internal conflict of sleep v. running.  In any case, my fundraising goal is 110%.  Actually, It’s $4k.  That’s a little more than 110%, but I’m not math-y so you can figure that out.

Tomorrow is an off day.  I won’t be blogging until Saturday.  That’s my first group run and I’m so excited to meet my team.  I’m also celebrating my birthday/Mother’s Day at my Grandmother’s house on Saturday. I’m really excited about that.  All in all, I’m very pleased with my training thus far.  I’ve been thinking a bit about what I want my marathon time to be and I haven’t made a decision.  I’m thinking that I’ll have a firm goal by the end of May.  Blessings!
